Criminal Investigation

The Winona Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is staffed by 4 general Investigators, an Evidence Technician, two Narcotics Investigators and an Investigations Sergeant.  The division is overseen by Deputy Chief Tom Williams.  The Investigators conduct follow-up on criminal cases that are initiated in the Patrol Division.  One Investigator is assigned to the Winona Area Public Schools as a school resource officer during the school year.

The Investigators conduct follow up on major crimes such as:

  • Felony Theft
  • Criminal Sexual Conduct
  • Child Abuse/Neglect
  • Burglary
  • Robbery
  • Drug Crimes
  • Assaults
