Great job, summer readers!!
This year’s summer reading program, Dig Into Reading, was a huge success: 1,165 kids tracked their reading minutes in this community. That equates to library staff handing out a LOT of reading incentive prizes! Thank you to the parents, grandparents, & providers for understanding the importance of summer reading, for getting kids here to the library and offering encouragement in between.
We have had record numbers of 150-200 attendees weekly at our summer Wednesday Performance Series, sponsored by our wonderful Friends group & hosted by the Winona County History Center. Thank you to all our generous program sponsors: Friends of the Library, Winona National Bank, Merchants Bank, Kwik Trip, Taco John’s, McDonald’s, Papa Murphy’s, Bloedow’s, Coca-Cola, Ground Round, HBC, Bluff Country Co-op, Winona Park Rec, The Book Shelf & Kathy Sullivan. It really does take a village!
Even though the Summer Reading Program is over, don’t stop reading!! Check out great sites with recommended reading lists on our Links page. James Patterson’s ReadKiddoRead.com is full of great ideas and is broken down by age group.
