Beginning Friday, May 22, all riders will be required to wear a face masks or covering. while on the bus and when waiting inside a transit shelter. Only children and those with medical conditions are exempt from this policy.
Riders are asked to use transit for essential travel only. You are also urged to practice physical distancing, move directly to and from their seat, and avoid touching any unnecessary surfaces or close interactions with others as much as possible.
Transit buses are running on an altered schedule. The buses run 2 complete routes and then will be stop so that the bus interior can be cleaned and sanitized. The third route would be cancelled, and the buses will resume running the fourth and fifth route, then stop again. This would be repeated for the remainder of the day. See the Updated Schedule (PDF).
In support of the Minnesota Department of Health’s recommendation to practice social distancing, Winona Transit is asking people who must take transit to do so for essential travel only. Reducing demand will make our service safer for those who depend on it, and for those who operate it.
Those who must take transit should use discretion, take action to prevent the spread of germs, and consider alternative transportation modes if concerned.
