Policies

City policy mandates that all plots must be actively cultivated, or they will be reassigned. The garden plot should be actively used for growing vegetables, fruit, flowers, etc. Plots are to be regularly maintained throughout the growing season. Regular care includes planting, watering, harvesting, and removal of weeds. If plots are not cared for or used, they will be reassigned.

Bees

Last year we introduced thousands of fuzzy, helpful honey bees to the garden. We spent the summer watching them happily buzz about and do what they do best: pollinate the world around us. This year, we’re expanding to 4 hives (officially an apiary) and are excited to provide hive inspections and education opportunities for folks who want to get an intimate look at honeybees and the process of raising them. Keep your eyes peeled to our Facebook page for more information.
