Teen Origami Hearts Take-Home Kit
February 9, all-day pickup. Registration required.
Youth in Grades 5-12 are invited to register for a kit which includes materials to make heart-shaped geometric box and a 3D paper heart box. View an example of these above. Once registered at the link below, you will be contacted regarding pickup instructions.

Heart Suncatcher Drop-in Craft
Stop by the Youth Department to make a heart-shaped suncatcher to brighten up any window! This is a drop-in event, so come and go as you please. Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

You Are Here / Be Here Now
Join Sarah from the Joy Labs for an exciting creative event!
Participants are invited to a 2-hour workshop to learn about and practice mindfulness.
Then together, we’ll create a painting that will be turned into a minimural to be featured
in a park around Winona.
Library Session – Saturday, February 11th, 10 AM – 12 PM
Friendship Center Session – Tuesday, February 21st, 9 AM – 11 AM
History Center Session – Tuesday, February 28th, 4 PM – 6 PM
FREE and open to all; no experience needed. Registration is limited.

Hot Reads for Cold Nights
Monday, January 9th through Friday, March 10th, 2023
Winona Public Library’s annual Hot Reads for Cold Nights Adult Winter Reading Program is back!
The program runs Monday, January 9th to Friday, March 10th, 2023. To participate in the program, all you need to do is read or listen to five books and record them in a reading log.
You can fill out an online digital log, or download a printable log (PDF) to record your books. Print logs will be available at the Library’s Check Out and Reference Desks. After completing the first log, you will receive a free Hot Reads for Cold Nights Coffee Mug and McDonald’s coupon (until supplies last).
You may enter the grand prize drawing multiple times by reading five books and submitting a reading log to increase your chances of winning. Grand Prizes include a package of loose-leaf tea & $5 Gift Card from Curiosi-Tea House, $50 to Fantastic Sam’s, $25 to HyVee, $50 to Kwik Trip, a gift from La Boutique, a $25 gift card to Muddled Thyme, $100 to Ray’s Carpet Cleaning, Darn Tough Socks from Yarnology, and more.
Must be 18 or older and have a Winona Public Library Card to participate in Hot Reads for Cold Nights. Reading materials do not have to come from the library; just start reading!

Early Explorers Take-Home Kit

Drop by the library’s lobby for a Valentine take-home kit curated just for littles! Each kit includes activities to help your child build fine and gross motor skills! These are great for ages 3-6 and are available while supplies last.

Classic Movie Monday
Classic Movie Monday is every second Monday of the Month at 2 PM in the Library’s Bell Art Room. Individually wrapped snacks and bottled beverages will be provided during the movies, and all movies are roughly no more than two hours long.

Galentine's Day

“February 14, Valentine’s Day, is about romance but February 13, Galentine’s Day, is about celebrating lady friends. It’s wonderful, and it should be a national holiday.” -Leslie Knope, Parks & Recreation
Celebrate your lady friends this Galentine’s Day, Monday, February 13th with the Winona Public Library from 5:30-7:30 pm. The first 120 attendees will receive a goodie bag, and all will have the opportunity to have their tarot cards read and visit a photobooth. There will be three crafting opportunities – wine charms, key chains, and bookmarks! Fill up on punch, hot cocoa and appetizers while visiting with your friends.

Invention Take-Home Kit
Drop by the library’s lobby for a take-home craft kit about Ada Lovelace and her passion for inventions. These are available while supplies last in the Library’s lobby beginning at 2 PM.

Capture the Flag Laser Tag
Play Capture the Flag Laser Tag (for adults ages 18 and older) on Friday, February 17th at 5pm. Participants will enjoy an after-hours evening in the Winona Public Library with a few games of Capture the Flag where you get zapped out instead of tagged out.

Memory Café
Hybrid (Virtual & In-Person) Meetings offered every Wednesday at 2:30 PM
Join us for a stigma-free one-hour program. It’s a time to socialize and engage with others, exchange experiences, support one another and learn something new. From the Suez Canal to Dolly Parton, we explore a new topic every week!

El cuarto lunes de cada mes a las 4 PM
El cuarto lunes de cada mes a las 4 PM, únase a los maestros y pasantes de RIOS de las Escuelas Públicas del Área de Winona para una hora de cuentos en español en la Biblioteca Pública de Winona.
